Information Collection and Use

Information Collection

PVR Research, Inc. (PVR) is the sole owner of the information collected on this site.  PVR Research collects information from our users at several different points on our website and during other business activities.

Information

We collect personal information on individuals that choose to volunteer to participate in market research studies and focus groups.  We treat this information as confidential and do not disclose the information to third parties except as outlined in this statement.

Information provided by study and focus group participants is shared with the company that has engaged PVR to conduct research.  Clients who engage us to conduct research are carefully screened by us.  They place a high degree of importance on confidentiality. Our clients also treat your information as confidential. All clients use your personal information only for research, never to sell to you.

When participating in a study or focus group, or being screened for participation in such a study or focus group, we may collect additional information from you either electronically, via telephone, or on paper.

During your actual participation in a research study or focus group, you may be asked to provide additional information about yourself.  This information may be collected by PVR or may be collected directly by our client who is conducting the study.

Many focus groups are audio and video taped.  Participants are always notified when they are being recorded.

The confidential nature of research dictates that participants will not always know which company is conducting the research.  In many cases, this information cannot be provided to you.

If you wish to be removed from our database, contact us at privacy@pvr-research.com.  Information in the possession of clients cannot be retrieved or deleted.

Like most standard website servers, we use log files. This includes Internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the site, track user’s movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses, etc. are not linked to personally identifiable information.

Legal Disclaimer

Though we make every effort to preserve user privacy, we may need to disclose personal information when required by law wherein we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on our website.

Business Transitions

In the event PVR Research, Inc. goes through a business transition, such as a merger, being acquired by another company, or selling a portion of its assets, users’ personal information will, in most instances, be part of the assets transferred.
